i find it  weird how some people believe they have the right to "stand up" for autistic people i myself have autism but that's not the point people think they have the right to feel offended for us like we cant comprehend whats going on and they make us out to be infants and we cant do anything for ourselves which is idiotic i understand if there like genuinely trying to stand up for us like hey he is autistic he might not understand it we haft to try to be slower with him or something like that but babying us like oh I'm being sarcastic about this and i don't mean it in that annoying tone you make to baby's when your trying to pay with them that is what ticks me off

no i understand that but there is different types of autism but the main focus on what i am talking is addressing those who feel the need to baby us  i understand your points but im just saying that some of us are being babied and it is annoying i understand those who need help because of the more serious cases but most people i feel like it isnt really needed

I stand up for autistic people. Standing up shouldn't be confused with fake and non-requisite sympathy developing due to misconceptions. I've seen autistic people getting bullied and maltreated. Me advocating their right to have a peaceful life is what I mean by standing up and I'd do that for people without autism too. I understand what you're implying here and I agree that this kinda attitude has to be eradicated. The root cause for this issue is probably their lack of knowledge on autism. I do hope you get treated the way you want to be treated and that you get a peaceful life. Stay safe

I wouldn’t know how it feels. I get your point tho, people with autism are just normal people like everyone else and i think u can stand up for yourself if needed but in case you need help I will help u and will stand up for you.
But I also think this “standing up” happens without even thinking about it properly. If you are my friend and someone makes a joke about you having autism I would automatically counter attack them with a reply. Just make it clear to people that you don’t want their protection and you can stand up for yourself.
