Acceptance really. Come to terms with the fact you can't change the past and move on. Sometimes you'll never fully overcome the heartbreak but generally, it hurts more the longer you hold on. Kind of like when you're afraid of heights and you're holding onto a rope, dangling off a cliff. The longer you hold onto the rope the more it hurts but once you let go you realize that the bottom is a giant pile of pillows cushioning your fall! Okay, that wasn't the best analogy but you get the gist.
