Professional gaming and Athletes?

Do you think professional gamers are similar to athletes? Why or why not?

I'd say they are because both have the strategic mindset and determination to win  Juicebox my answer is pretty vague but whatcha think?

In terms of competing for an achievement yes. In terms of physical ability, no. Athletes are on a different level when it comes to the physical fitness aspect. However I see the relation in a similar mindset.

RE: Professional gaming and Athletes?

When it comes to athletes and gamers, I can see the connection drawn between the two. Since I was a fan of overwatch league for a good while, I attended a game for my birthday and being there felt a lot like if I were attending a game for a sport. I think it's fun to act like they are similar with team spirit and all, jerseys etc. but I also think that the two can't really be compared as they're different things.

I respect the competitive spirit e-sports professional possess. But I don't compare them to athletes. The kind of hard work athletes has to put in is different from what the latter has to put in. Training to be a professional athlete is 100 times harder than training to be an e-sports professional; nonetheless it doesn't mean the latter doesn't require hard work. They're just not comparable.
