How long did you have this laptop for? You could check if its eligible for a warrantee. If not, then yeah man just buy a new one. Even if you sent it for repairs, they would just replace the whole screen and the chances are its not from the main manufacturer.

It's almost like 6 years old, I got it in 2015 as a high school graduation present so I'm not too broken up, it lasted a long time. The hinge on the right side gave out a long time ago, before the screen and when that happened I looked up the model and like all the info and they actually had stopped manufacturing this model shortly after I got it sadly
