It depends on what is in the soup, if it is like a tomato soup then we use to open the top of the can and just put it on our campfire until it was nice and hot then pour it into our mugs for hot soup on a cold night. As a last resort then we could just open the can and have it straight but only when fire was not an option like during fire ban times.

Well, I'd like to thank everyone for their input on the matter, but I will continue eating my soup cold and straight out of the can.
