So, my boyfriend and I are planning on watching all six Lord of the Rings/Hobbit movies (he's never watched any of them!) and I was wondering if y'all had any suggestions on what order to watch in?? I'm not sure if there's as big a debate about prequels vs originals like there is with Star Wars. 

Basically: should we watch The Hobbit trilogy before the LOTR trilogy, or vice versa?

The Hobbit book was written first and the Hobbit movies should also be watched first. The Lords of the Rings then clarifies things that occurred in the Hobbit

dont listen to Lupa lmao, watch the hobbit then watch lord of the rings. The movies leave so much important stuff out that matter so it's actually best to make your bf read the books.

If only he would agree to that! He'd have to get through all 7 Harry Potter books first haha
