I'm not gonna lie to you all... It's a dream for me to get lost in books like some do. To turn those words on paper into an actual movie in your head. To get lost in time and just read for hours on end. I've tried with all types of different genres, different lengths (as in amount of pages a book has). I just can't seem to get into it... Now I was kinda wondering if anyone has experienced something similar, but learned to love reading somewhere down the line? To me, "from the outside" it just seems like a beautiful hobby...

I think you just need to find the right book that sparks your imagination like that. Growing up, and still now, I can do it with any book I read (unless it's boring and for school) but just keep looking for the right book

having to read a book out of obligation (for school for example) does seem to... dampen the mood when it comes to reading yeah... I guess I just have to keep looking, you probably right there. <3

Try reading "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini. Gives you the same effect.

The best way to get into a reading craze is start with something you really like, for example, rereading childhood books that you couldn't put down like Percy Jackson or Hunger Games, or read fanfiction of movies/shows you really like (expanding the world of a fandom you already enjoy builds excitement to read more regardless if it's more fanfiction). Another way is to read short books as starting a series consisting of 7 books can be daunting. Some recommendations of stand-alone novels are Fahrenheit 451 (Dystopian), The Song of Achilles (Mythology), Firekeeper's Daughter (Thriller YA), State of Fear (Action) just to name a few. Back when I was in highschool I really didn't see the point in reading till one of the librarians pointed out a book for me, she gave me the book Eragon, and oohhh boy I read book after book for years. I don't read anymore but it was all about finding the right book for me, even if its something cringe like Warriorcats or a book about dragons lmao. If a book doesn't catch your attention from the first couple chapters try a new book, if you get sucked in and find yourself imagining whole worlds in your head then keep on reading lol
