What game/game series took you more than one attempt to fall in love with?
A game that at first you may not have found particularly fun or engaging but after coming back or giving it another try you fell in love with.
For me it'd have to be Monster Hunter: World, it was a little overwhelming at first but after trying it 3 more times I ended up sinking over 1500 hours in it and loving the lore, a close second would probably be Warframe, I don't play too much anymore but when I first decided to give it a shot I dismissed it as just another f2p cash grab, but now I have 1500 hours in it aswell.

A game series for me that I thought was mid at first was Uncharted. I played through the first one and there was this one level I could not finish because of how dumb it was but apparently from what I've seen on YouTube most people said the first game was trash. So I moved on to the second and third part of Uncharted and man it was such a journey playing as Nathan Drake and solving the mysteries he had to unfold.

Skyrim
As I was young at the time I first played it to just complete the story. As I've gotten older I tend to roleplay to a certain extent to give my own experience a little extra depth. If a game let's you customize your own character then you should add some backstory, give them a cool title in the name, scars from the past and more. I enjoy a lot more when stuff is immersive and when I played it a second time I learned Skyrim was a lot bigger than I thought it was compared to my first playthrough.

MMO RPG games, the start is always a slow with a large learning curve like Black Desert and Path of Exile but once you put the time into learning the mechanics it's very fun!
