I agree, games are just so copy and paste.  They seem like husks of what they used to be.

The increase in degradation over many and all platforms branching to not even just games is undeniable. its disappointing to see decrease in originality, i do prefer to play older games because of that, its more enjoyable to me very often the only real complaint one can give is the graphics which really whatever, you can even see the now heavy lack of.. a certain element in The Elder Scrolls, from morrowind to oblivion, then oblivion to skyrim, we get a bit less and less at the though we get more graphics and certain game mechanics.

Triple-A developers like to pretty much stick to that one thing that has got them going for the past few years.

A good example is Call of Duty.
