ok have you done the quest where you kill the old lady in the orphanage in Riften... once that is done... you will receive a letter with a mark of a black hand on it... then once you have that... sleep anywhere for at least 8hours... you will be in a room with 3 people that need to be killed... kill all 3 unless you want to get ambushed while wandering around Tamriel/Skyrim
