Don't bother with it....I understand what you're saying and I myself and sick of the misconception America is a country. The best defense I heard was during the establishing of the colonies the British referred to the colonies in a manner inconsistent with a land mass but more of a country. Stemming from that slang, we still use America incorrectly to this day. So once again, I blame the British. :D
