I mainly use my laptop for gaming...
Desktop:
CPU = AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
GPU = ATI Radeon HD 6950
HDD = Seagate Barracuda 1 TB @ 7200 RPM
RAM = Corsair Dominator 8 GB quad channel
OS = Windows 7 Ultimate
PSU = Corsair TX950 @ 950 watts
Mobo = EVGA something
Laptop:
CPU = Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00 GHz (8 cpus)
GPU = nVidia Geforce GTX 560m
HDD = 720 GB @ 5000 rpm <-i know it sucks -.-
RAM = 8 GB DDR3 ( 2 x 4GB)
OS = Windows 7 Ultimate

Mobo =I forget. x58 chipset.
Seriously, halo 2 is the only thing I paid for software wise on my machine. (it's not hard i know...but it's true)

My total set up was 1075 dollars haha
I didn't spend for the I7 because games don't use hyper threading so...it was pretty cheap. Obviously built it myself. derp.

I built mine totaling at about $850. But I didn't need a new monitor, keyboard, or mouse
Old laptop was $1000
New laptop is $700
