Yeah, this isn't news but, I have read that while MS's own service will be very similar to Bungie.Net, some features have been axed. Others improved everyone now gets a 24-slot fileshare, but the stats API will no longer work. Personally, I am very excited for the 24-slot fileshare upgrade, it should improve the community of custom content and I'll get to share all of my racetracks and other crappy maps, as well as build more. There are a few more features that haven't been revealed yet. Also, the download links will not work for a short time after the change. /disable rantmode
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Didn't this happen last year? This was before Bungie Day, MS let them have their last Bungie day and everyone that played then got blue helmet and bungie / all star name plate.
Then, I think it was in around November they shifted the servers over to 343 from Bungie, they were all down for a day.
I don't know, I don't play the game anymore, my Xbox is never free to allow me to play it.
