Re: Red Alert 1

dude T_T that game is older than my grandpa. And plus the graphics are SO terrible I can't even see what the difference is between a soldier and a dog.
But in all seriousness, you should get yourself a different game to play. Just a newer game by westwood. like tiberian sun...or Red Alert 2.
Although you can't play online because the protocols used by them (SPX/IPX) to network were specifically not put in the OS' created around '07 to current. I mean... I guess if you used a VM, or partitioned part of your drive for an windows XP install (though you have to be extremely careful with XP because it will install right over your other OS'), or installed w/e version of linux you chose (that utilizes the IPX/SPX), and got the plugins to allow the game to work you could do it. But I think it's more worth it to just go buy one of the newer RTS games such as Generals, or Tiberiums Wars. (RA3 can suck it)
P.S. Sorry for the long post

Re: Red Alert 1

Yeah, because this RA1 has been modified by a group of programmers to use IP/TSP...idk how and I don't really feel like figuring it out. Although It may help with being able to paly RA2 online... :D

Re: Red Alert 1

:censored:
RA2. was. the BEST, OF EVERYTHING, EVER!!! except for halo 2 :x
Also, the expansion was called Yuri's revenge. Kane is from Tiberian Sun/Tiberium Wars.
*takes chill pill* ok, now that we have that all cleared up, we can continue our completely rational and civilized conversation about C&C games.

Re: Red Alert 1

Hahaha, renegade was pretty fun back in the day, although I didn't get to play it very often. Since I've become older, we got the "First Decade" packs which come with the game, and I played through the campaign and tried out hte cpu multiplayer.

Re: Red Alert 1

Yeah of course it's a real time strategy game made into a first person shooter. So obviously it will attempt to retain it's rts aspects .
Example-In Halo vehicles are considered to be for "nubs". But in renegade it's practically essential to an effective strategy.
So you can't really compare those games.
Renegade is totally team based. No real 1v1's there.

I haven't really played multiplayer games on renegade other than the simulated one. Single Player is fun but too easy, once you have played it, it gets boring.
I just love the Volt-Auto Rifle though. It's just too powerful. Too Bad that you get to use it only in the last level for a bit.
Pistol is overpowered :Check: Long Range+Silenced+Unlimited Ammo+extreme accuracy.
