and you have to get all the updates maybe. did you kept trying or you did it and checked once. also was there anything that says computer must shut down to finish the update? if you did not agree and did not shut down. that might be why.

I don't understand.
How did you play h2v without creating an account, or downloading the update?

You make a local profile in GFWL. You can do it with any GFWL game.

You need to manually download the GFW Marketplace app and the Halo 2 update.

I recommend you contact games for windows live support. We can only give you basics. Call them and get the game working, after that we will enjoy playing with you.
