The UN (if i'm correct) was founded by the U.S. and is nearly 100 percent sponsored by the U.S. as well. That's probably the reason it's in New York.

I'm pretty sure you're being sarcastic, but just to clarify; the UN would not exist without the United States. The UN's principles are close to 90% founded on Woodrow Wilson's (The U.S President during WWI) 14 points of peace.
Also, let's get back on topic people. This is about Kony. Not the United States involvement in the UN, or how greedy politicians are. (although that could be debatable)

NATO has nothing to do with this. NATO is a deterrent if anything else now. Originally founded by the U.S. and allied countries to hinder the spread of communism.
Now it's more of a deterrent that anything else. Attack one NATO country, all the others attack you.

The UN however is a peace-keeping organization.

The U.S. is a part of the UN as well. NATO does not care about any general in Uganda. NATO is not an organization, but more of an understanding. It's an alliance. They're more concerned with potential war in Iran and North Korea than Kony. NATO has never, and will never say that they (collectively as an Alliance) want Kony arrested. A liberation armada into Uganda won't illicit response from any country in NATO.

The UN is an organization. It does not trade with anyone, because it is a collection of countries. The U.S. may trade with a country in the UN, but not the UN itself. The U.S. is also in an incredible amount of debt (15,000,000,000,000 last time I checked?), but we continue trade with other countries.
