It's called "Banshee Boosting" ... You hit someone with a banshee and boost them across the map. e.g Boost someone from your base, to the other base to get the flag, or boost the flag carrier back to your base to capture the flag, or just for shit and gigs with your friends.

In your case, you just flew passed the kill trigger, which is a flat plain floating out in the map, it wasn't made big enough, so you can boost people out of it, if you hit them properly.
I did this to my whole team once, had all my team safe out in the fog. :lol:

To get back, either kill yourself, or keep walking toward the map. You will reach the kill trigger again and die.
