uh?

I'm French so I learn english through classes. But French educational system sucks concerning foreign languages, so I've actually learnt 90% of my english on the internet. Sometimes I encounter new words and expressions that I think are correct, so I use them in class and my professor goes "WTF" (well, now I've learned how to spot something sketchy). Worse, when so many people on the internet repeatedly make mistakes that I originally DON'T make, it confuses my fragile brain. Best examples here: your/you're, their/they're/there => kind of mistakes I would never have made 2 years ago, and now I always double check when I write them down.

Grammatically incorrect to start a sentence with "and", you should replace the full stop/period with comma.

Re: A Rant. (About English)

You can start a sentence with "and", if you see fit, as long as it is making sense, you shouldn't. But, with the lack of English skills of most persons, there is no real concern.

I am writing an extension for Chrome called "DeMoronify The Internet", it will have basic word censors to fix the "mistakes", and incompetence by people, e.g over punctuation, "plz", "u" "r" ... Hard to fix your / you're since there are too many variables to consider in the corrections.

Re: A Rant. (About English)

Lol.
I'm pretty sure many people here can guess who he is talking to.
Umm, I learned most of my grammar, spelling and what not here on the forums from Pirate, Cookie, and the other Grammar Nazis. :D
But yeah, I agree with you, some people do post unreadable things, but as long as you can guess what they're saying, I'm pretty sure it's OK.
Unfortunately, the world doesn't revolve around a single person, so everything should not be as they see it fit, if a person does post incorrectly, then tell them, without offending them.
