Re: PC problems.

Why the fuck must you quote my entire post?

Last time I used AVG was a little while ago, I want a "Quit" or "Exit" button on ALL programs, I want to be able to completely stop the entire anti-shit-you-(normally)-only-get-from-downloading-pr0n programs with only ONE button, I shouldn't have to follow 8 days of prompts, 15 "are you sure" messages, just to disable the AV for a few minutes.

Every computer I have fixed for someone, I install AVG on it. They usually still end up with viruses, mainly their ignorance, and stupidity, but I installed MSE on there, and I didn't have to fix their PC's again.
So, I don't know, the MSE seems better to me.

Re: PC problems.

I can quote you anytime I f**kin feel like it lol, MSE in my opinion is shit on a stick, got me a rogue trojan and made all my files infected with a permanent irreversible attribute change and when i had in my external it also started chewing up my files O.o so i acted quicly and removed it.

So thanks MSE for a shitty AV lol in my opinion it sucks dude. Malwarebytes and AVG work well together so "usually when i install avg they end up with viruses" your right but since malwarebytes isnt there to help avg ofcourse its gonna get viruses and rogues. Anyway i dont want to be off topic lol no flame wars on teh forums. :lightsaberfight:

Re: PC problems.

You're the noob you TRIED making viruses, so don't give me that bullshit.

Can you please use the right your / you're ...

I tried AVG on my PC, it was using ~20% CPU ... So I tossed that POS away.

Malware and viruses are completely different ... I thought you would know this?

Re: PC problems.

Your talking about what I was doing a couple months ago lol thats old news, I was using a virus generator on a different workstation not my actual Windows 7 Computer -.-

Before AVG or MB came into my daily use I had MSE when it was on its 3rd quarter of release and was glad I had a free AV and this rouge trojan was a vicious virus that had my pc by the neck.

It tried raping my computer and external drive but tossed that POS and AVG and MB cured most of my shizznet. :lightsaberfight: [supasnipa]

Re: PC problems.

MSE doesn't work if you don't pay for the OS ... It will install and run, but won't work if you're too cheap.

Re: PC problems.

Really, that seems strange, with all your tools you have.

Either way, back to topic.

List of good, free anti-crap programs.
  • AVG
  • Comodo Internet Security
  • Microsoft Security Essentials
  • Avast
  • MalwareBytes - if you can afford it, buy the pro version.

Remember, just because you have a "good" anti-virus, doesn't mean it will stop everything, don't go downloading shoddy files, if you think someone looks a bit weird, scan it before you run it. It may seem like a pain, but it will be worth it if you find it's a virus and it would have done some damage to your computer.

Anti-virus programs generally only stop viruses, you still need to have a malware check, or leave malwarebytes running all the time, it will find almost everything. Sometimes you have to do some manual work,, but it will find nearly everything.
Even paid programs sometimes don't catch everything.

Also, only ever run ONE anti-virus, or they will conflict with each other and might end up catching nothing with it. Two condoms is not always better than one. Might make you feel safe, but it really isn't any safer, it just uses more resources, and reduces pleasure.

Re: PC problems.

I use McAfee. $40 a year subscription for each computer.
I have got it installed on 5 computers cause my dad's office gives it free. :D
But anyways it's good unlike that Norton shit which slows down the computer.
