Question about our router

So my dad always unplugs and plugs out router. And I noticed our internet is getting worse again. Is that causing the bad connection?

I mean my average ping in HCE is 167. And now it is above 200-400.

Re: Question about our router

He should not keep unplugging router. And the ping is based on location mostly. But internet speeds help.

Re: Question about our router

Routers aren't built to take that on-off power run. That's why it's rare to find a power switch on one. I have at least 5 business routers. None of them have a switch.

So tell your dad to stop it. :P

Re: Question about our router

Plugging in and unpluging your router only fixes a problem if the router is "frozen" or something. Also, your router could just simply be dying, or overheating...which would affect your ping as well. So maybe get it better cooled, or find out if you need a new one.

I got the router a year ago -_-
I don't want to keep buying things over and over again.

And if you are wondering what kind of router.

Re: Question about our router

I think you're mistaking router vs modem...
If you want to change your modem settings type: http://192.168.0.1 into your address bar.

@Nebula what is the mpbs? b/g/n?

its a modem with a built in router so its a 2 in 1. idk how to completly open my nat cuz on my old router it just had a option that said open r close nat.
