What I did was get caught by the teacher then I never wanted to do it again.

sleep during the easy classes and pay attention in the hard ones :) that's how I do it. Also ask questions or something to stay active.

Okay, so if you feel yourself falling asleep in class:

***1. Chew a piece of peppermint gum. The mint ingredients stimulate your brain and prevent you from falling asleep, and gives a more refreshing feeling. Other mints will work, but peppermint works the best.***

2. Eat a banana with breakfast; the potassium will provide your body with nutrients. The nutrients will take longer to break down, which will keep your metabolism stimulated, and in turn, keep you more awake.

3. Eat a good breakfast, such as Cheerios, a banana, and a glass of orange juice. Not eating breakfast deprives your body of the protein and vitamins it needs first thing in the morning; a late morning with little or no breakfast will lead to a tired day, so make sure to start the day right with actual food, not Poptarts.

4. If you already go to sleep early, try waking up early. This gives your body ample time to wake up and be ready for the day. A nice cold shower in the morning will wake you right up.

DO NOT TAKE CAFFEINE OR SUGAR!!!
Taking caffeine or sugar will simply make you jittery, and gives a false sense of alertness. Caffeine and sugar will typically make you hyper. Caffeine lasts 4-6 hours after taking, and a sugar high will last less than an hour. Caffeine and sugar are highly short-term, and won't help to keep you awake in class. I do not recommend either of the two in the morning, it's why I gave up drinking coffee.

5. If at all possible, do not think calming thoughts.




I've worked on perfecting this list for about 3 years. Rule 1 has always worked for me. The other rules will work most of the time, but every now and again we have an "off" day. That's why I always carry a pack of mint gum in my bag. Never fails, because it stimulates your brain.

And @«SmG» Cloud, Adderall will make you more focused, not necessarily awake. And it has nasty mental side effects, even if it's prescribed to you.
