Atheists:

Absence of Belief is a double negative. You cant be absent of believing in something because you must be able to prove there is nothing to believe, which is impossible, therefore you are believing in something. Yet believing in something is putting trust into something you cant prove, therefore its also possible to not believe in what you would be putting your trust in. What you were trying to say is that you believe that you dont believe when in fact your are believing in that very thing. Belief cant be negative, it can only be positive, so you cant say you believe in nothing, rather you just believe that there is nothing, which can also be false. So my question to you is, why believe in nothing when its just as possible something could exist?

Religious:

How is it possible that you believe in a loving, caring god, and in the same breath belittle those who oppose your ideas? Isn't he, your god, who says to treat every neighbor equally, the judge? Are you not but his child, who is neither inclined nor asked to make such judgements? If god had made you in his image, should you not be contempt with letting the lord handle these responsibilities? If you have been made to be Sinning, how could he who has made you so damn you for that very reason? If he not wanted the "devils judgment" to sway you, would he not have made man insusceptible to those flaws? If you are uncertain yourselves, do not laugh at thy neighbor for the same reason.

My Belief: I know that I couldn't possibly know the truth about this in my lifetime, so why bother with either side at all? Im not saying I dont believe in a god, because i do, but i dont really know, and i sure as hell wont take any churches word for it either because they dont know either. My philosophy is live lfe to the best of my abilities and in the end, what god could hate me for being who I am?


Just some food for thought I felt like sharing. Both arguments have flaws, so in the end, whats the point?
