I get around 2mbps Peak on Steam file downloads, when on wireless. I reckon I'd go a bit faster on wire, but I won't really bother to try.

Battlefire, I want to see your speedtest.net + pingtest.net results with your self-claimed gigabit-speed internet :D

By the way, I'm still quite pissed that I haven't managed to kidnap Ray's ISP CEO yet >:(

LOL nubs, since when the faak did low bandwidth cause lag?

Also the download meters can be false, when I downloaded LoL my peak rate was 1000Mb/s, even Steam shows mine sometimes around 300KB/s, its false. My max goes around 120KB/s.

lol mines download only took a minute and it was suppose to be at least 1-3 hours download (total war patch).

It was a mod for texture and modded units.

Edit: It took around 1 minute to download and patch it to Napoleon Total War.

Your dreaming. If that was true that means your raw download rate was 30MBps, equivalent to 240Mbps.
Not even Cloud has that download. What must have happened is that, the file had already been downloaded, and hence it just confirmed that all parts were still there and patched it.

No...it was patch that was never been part of the game when you get it.

Doesn't steam make your downloads faster a little?

If I do a normal download non-steam it is at least 100-200 kb/s
