Re: The Diamond Planet

That is really cool! 2100C? No wonder its mainly diamond in there, almost all other elements would melt at that temperature.

Dont turn this topic into those retarded spam ones. -_-

Re: The Diamond Planet

No, all elements have melting points; some are just higher than others.

Re: The Diamond Planet

Well technically diamonds don't have a melting point per say as they change directly from a solid to a gas if I remember correctly from my chem class

Re: The Diamond Planet

First up, any more spam and you gonna get it moved.

Old news tbh...
And yeah, this its theorodynamically possible cuz diamonds are formed when they are subjected to very high temperatures and pressures over prolonged periods of time.
The higher the temperature and pressure, the larger are the crystals.
Diamonds are a complex structures of Carbon and the unlimited source off carbon on that planet surely increases the probability...

But lets be practical, if it so happens "all" the diamonds on that planet are to be brought here, then the price each diamond would be less than 1 dollar.

Re: The Diamond Planet

Liquid diamond will occur under extreme temperature and pressure, conditions found in both Neptune and Uranus.
