Wireless connection issues.

For christmas I got all three of my children laptops and another xbox 360 also a ipod for my youngest. Well i'm running windows 7 home premium 64bit. Before christmas i was running the desktop, 2 laptops, ipod and a xbox 360. Everything is wireless except the desktop, its hard wired. All was fine then when I added 3 more laptops 1 more xbox online and 1 more ipod..all isn't fine now.

All the wireless stuff works fine with the wireless connection, 5 laptops, 2 ipods and 2 xbox 360 online while the desktop is running, but when I get on the desktop and start halo ce the 5 laptops, 2 ipods and the xbox 360's all loose the wirless connection but the desktop doesn't loose connection just the wireless stuff.

I'm only using the standard 12m internet do you think I need to upgrade the internet to a 20m or sumthin? I need to keep the connection while running haloce

Re: Wireless connection issues.

lol...if its like mine...at&t crap...wireless and wire wont share...something I messed with 2 or 3 days and never really got a good solution...the old firmware shared ...when they updated everything turned to crap...probably something having to do with security and ports...but I got tired of deleting and creating networks with this setting and that setting and finally turned the hard wired computer to wireless ....

Good Luck dude..CY6

Dude, thats alot of load on one network. I'm not suprised that you are having wireless issues

If you want to ask for my help, I would contact you ISP and ask them for a better router.

Re: Wireless connection issues.

hey thatnks for the responding, i'll first try the Isp. Maybe I can get a better router without coming up with the bucks and buying one myself. Well, i have another router it is a Belkin but it looks like crap compared to the isp router. A little more a month wouldn't kill me for the better router if they have one.

Re: Wireless connection issues.

You have to see what kind of router you have and how many connections it was designed to support at the same time. But it might alos be purely coincidental that it just happen to start stealing hte connection now that you have more devices. My suggestion is (if you can) just borrow a wireless card and see if making the desktop wireless fixes your problem.

Re: Wireless connection issues.

Actually I do have a wireless device that I can try on the pc desktop to see if thats the issue. I did not call the isp today. I didn't have the time. The back of the router has 4 extra ports.
