Im using vista, i have to disable all the pretty little things of vista like the desktop widgets, wallpaper stretch and the new aura taskbar so that halo 2 doesnt lag

Win 7 was more stable than xp.
If I chose between xp or vista I would choose xp.

Vista was a fail. I kept my xp for some time tell Win 7 came out. Saw it was good and get this laptop.

I'm not even joking. Win 7 is more stable. But I think Win 8 beat that.

I dont believe it is battle, thats why Windows XP is considered on of the bests, it was so stable (that and it easily supported so many programs even after it was outdated, but thats another story)

One of the best not the best.

I spend equal amount of my time with XP and 7. And with my experiences 7 is more stable. 8, I'm not sure. Don't like to use it. But that might beat 7. Now I understand Vista sucks. But 7 improved everything from problems vista had.

Ive used 2000 - 8, imo xp was best, then 7, then 2000, then vista, then 8. 8 has been probably one of the worst OS' ive ever seen. Its fast, and thats all it has going for it. Everything is awkward.

If i had to use 8 or learn to use linux, id take linux any day, no matter what distro.

I don't quite remember XP that well, but I do recall that it was very simple and easy to use, unlike now.
As for the others, 7 and XP are my favorites with the rest below. 8 is horrible in my opinion.
