Australia's National Broadband Network
NBN Co (owned by the government) are going to up the speeds from 100 megabits/s to 1 gigabit/s for Fibre! Although I will probably not get the Fibre where I live (no ETA for me, most likely fixed wireless (25 megabits/s :( )), this is HUGE!
Imagine. Halo CE would take 1 second to download. LoL, 1 minute. Battlefield 3 (incl. Premium) = 40 minutes. X-Plane 9 (biggest game ever at 90 gigs) = 1 1/2 hours
Now everybody feel for me. 25 mb/s is not 1000 mb/s :(

I don't know anyone in Australia with 100 download, maybe the major unis, but still don't even think they have it.
There's another 2 years until Stinger's and my town gets it installed.
Oh and just because your bandwidth would be 25mb/s it doesn't mean it downloads that fast, because then other people on the network wouldn't be able to access the internet, I think it allocates a certain about of bandwidth per device, even if you have 1 computer connect you won't download a 25mb file in 1 second.
25 megabits. That would be around 2.5 megabytes per second.
I think that a 500 gig NBN fibre plan was around $90-110 dollars for the 100 megabits anyway

Re: Australia's National Broadband Network
You guys do know this is in gigaBITS, which in theory is 125 MB/s.
This is the maximum theoretical speed, and as you all know reaching these speeds is laughable.
@ Stealer it would actually take less time
Halo: 2 secs
LoL: 5 secs
BF3: 3 mins + 43 secs
x-plane 9: 12 mins
i7-5820k @ 4.7 ghz, Asus X99 sabertooth TUF, Kingston DDR4-3200 16 GB
Corsair H110i GT AIO, Samsung 850 Evo 250 GB x 2, EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC2 Hybrid
Asus ROG Swift PG279Q 1440p/165hz, Corsair AX760w, Corsair Obsidian 750D
