^everyone whos in smg has the groups "registered user" and "SmG Member". Additionally staff have whatever there current group is as well (admins get two, "Administrators" group and "SmG Admins" groups) pulse just changed his default group to registered user, so he appears to be registered user. Because he still is in the mod group he still has permissions, he can see the moderator and the hidden forums, and has access to MCP. Basically hes a mod with a white name.
