Re: Open Sauce discussion

I guess their google site is more updated.

but it does a lot more, it provides new features for halo custom edition, it allows people to create more useful programs such as optic and hac2. It adds new and enhanced graphics to halo custom edition and basically makes the game more up to the modern day par.

not really. you could download their source and modify/add what you want, but if that the case most coders write their own things from scratch. Although some have found the Open Source code usefull, most coders do the memory searching themselves also. OS is cool if you want better graphics and cool options, but atm a lighter alternative would be hac2. And I am thinking about releasing my own alternative similar to hac2 with some different features, but I want to wait until I master d3d9 hooking. sorry for the rant, I'm just bored.

You don't understand, OS is made to open up the game and let people that create those programs in.

hmm...... like who? the people who create those programs make things themselves rather than working with/around other's code. if that's the case why wouldn't sehe just add optic and halochat features to OS? why wouldn't Btcc22 just have added some of his feature to OS? it easier to code things yourself than to add to a huge project like that. and I still don't get why OS is 1.09 only when it could sigscan/AOB scan for needed addys/pointers and then it could be for all versions of hce and likely hpc. I'm not dissing on OS, it's a cool program with neat features and good potential(for mapp makers/scripters not really for program developers). So if you want some insanely awesome maps and have a pc good enough to run them then OS is good for you, but if you want a cool program that isn't soo demanding on the pc then HAC2 is where I would go. Again sorry to rant I'm just saying OS opens the game to Mappers not Programmers because as I said it'd be easier to just make your own app for things like (flycam/SJ/other shit you might want) than it would be to add to OS. you have to understand that writing things your own way is quicker than working with existing code. Again sorry for the rant.
