a split pusher does not necessarily need to be a powerful duelist, just someone with a decent waveclear and isn't too squishy. Besides, I wasn't talking about just splitpushing. A tanky support can go and proxy a wave or two after a teamfight when his carry is dead/basing for items before teleing to another part of the map just in time to pair up for another fight. supports can take/do objectives, they don't constantly have to be so far up their carries ass that they help pick their items with them in the store. A decent carry/support combo won't need an exhaust to get the early kills when they already have so much built in cc (jinx's snare, threshs slow/hook/knockback, that summoner slot is better spent giving your team the advantage of mapwide mobility to defend turrets being destroyed and push on turrets when there's time to.

Yeah, but Beasty, some of the meta champions like Corki, Trist (pre-6), Lucian and I guess Kog, have no real hard cc and Exhaust is the stand in hard cc tbh.

If you use corki, you deserve everything you get. He's a shit tier champ.

As for the others, they trade off hard cc for high burst damage in the early game. That's why you see so many trists and Lucians paired with morganas. So as long as your support can land a snare or two you won't need to worry too much about reducing their movement speed, because you'll essentially keep them from getting xp from the minon wave and you will eventually outlevel them without the risk of needing to commit to a kill.

Of course, I'm not trying to claim that you should never use exauhst, not am I trying to claim you should always take support tele. My point is that it's situational and a single tele can literally win you the late game. I just don't see the huge necessity of an exaust on a support, it just seems more like something you'd use to shutdown a jax gank, so tbh I just thought the benefits of a mobile tank outweigh the benefits of bettering your trades in a lane you could easily win anyway.

Corki isn't trash tier. He is a very strong adc. He had high burst and good trades making him a lane bully and he does a lot of mixed damage which makes it hard to itemize against. I've played games on corki before where I've done more magic damage than the enemy apc, more physical damage than the enemy adc and more true damage than the other team combined. Also the reason split pushers should be good duelists is because if aren't then they can be easily dispatched by an assassin an thus eleminating the threat. Also split pushing with full wave clear champs is somewhat ineffective because you can never build up waves of creeps because you clear waves too fast for your creeps to keep up. A single wave of creeps with a super minion can actually split push better than a lot of champions can. Also teleport generally isn't used to teleport to a place to start split pushing unless you are trying to get inhibs or inhib/nexus turrets. The teleport is used to come back from split pushing to group with your team.

As a support, during the fight you always have to be part of the team to disengage/engage. If your splitting, then you cant protect your carriers and in the few seconds you come to tp fights prob over.

Exhaust is the most op summoner for a support (early AND late game), negating 40% dmg AND reducing attack speed and movement speed by 30%. Exhausting the enemy ad assasin (yasuo, zed etc) or adc late game = gg. Like omega said you shouldn't be proxing a wave as a TANKY support as your main goal is to "support" your adc at all time; even if it's leashing jungle camps. You'll also be taking away necessary gold from mid and adc, not to mention since you're tanky you wont be clearing the wave fast to begin with.
Also corki isnt shit, he has spells that do both ap and ad dmg that scale well into late game plus he has one of the longest jump range of all the adc.
