Scout was never meant to have extra permissions over members but was meant only to help new members join.
It was also intended to display to staff those members that would work for a staff role and be responsible in that role.
The extra permissions granted to Scouts for a while were never meant to be permanent but only a stop gap measure until enough staff could be promoted to regulate Discord.
Exactly this. Scout was never intended to have extra permissions. The idea is that Senior Member, Scout, and Donator are all member ranks that are equal. On top of that when Scout was originally made the staff team they didn't understand what I wanted Scout to be. Which was just miscommunication and lack of time to handle the problem on my part. Now it is exactly what it was suppose to be from the start.
Also as most of you know getting a rank here actually means something other than other discord servers and communities where they give each member 100 roles/ranks and they are worthless. They mean nothing you didn't work to get them. Here when you have a rank here it means you did something to achieve that rank.
Most likely Scout requirements will continue to raise as we get more and more. So the longer you wait to get Scout the harder it will be. You need to remember Scout is our newest rank we have still.
Maybe I will raise the requirements higher soon hmmmm.
Anyways we have bigger changes coming soon. So I need to focus on them.
Question. To the people saying Scout is useless what do you want it to do?
