@sman454: the problem that I have with the Adam and eve story is it implies that man was perfect with out woman, who of which corrupted man. PLUS how does lusifer get past an all seeing, all knowing god? Other questions include:
Why did god create lusifer if he knew he would lead a rebellions against him?
How does one create the creator of all? (Lol I know that one is cliche...)
Why would a god allow suffering in his/her most beloved creation?

As u may have noticed I too use to be religious but then I took philosopher as my school and then things made more sense than religion. I have no problem with religion; I say let one believe what they want to believe as long as it does not hurt me or force me to change my own. If u believe aliens created the world (scientology) or a man with a beard (catholicism), live and let live.

why is the universe not perfect?
Its a test as my brother said. if god was there. its a test like what sman gave that example. he ate the apple and that was a test and she failed. And again. its impossible to bring that many energy natural to make a universe so big. its just impossible. that is why i like studying these things. want to learn the universe and see who did the creation.

The thing is, people don't believe in God because he's perfect (is he?) or because they think he makes the World perfect (no one would believe that) it's something else. Apparently he's supposed to help those who suffer by giving them strength. That's what catholics believe in. God isn't Superman, this would be a very material vision of the thing.

May I just say, what god condemns one of his/her creations based on their sexuality? Instead of just altering the "coding" of the creation to make homosexuality impossible?
Anyway rant over, I'm atheist. If there is a god, they are long dead.

after going to a catholic high school, i found religion extremely annoying.
one of the teachers was so engrossed that he would fail you if you selected your favored religion to be anything but catholic.
anyway i have found that religion is more like fanaticism.
i mean how many people have died because of someones religion, think of all the crusades...
i would choose Buddhist since their ideas seem to be the most realistic
